A More Guided Handoff
Helpful reminders and a clearer process make recycling feel easier to complete.
Updated
Sorting unwanted items is only part of the job. Knowing what to include, which address to use, and when to make things available helps you turn a pile of clothes, shoes, or toys into a clear collection request.
Begin with three useful details
Before you start, make a short list of the items, check their condition, and confirm the address where you want collection. Together Recycling offers free home pickup for eligible clothes, shoes, and toys in active U.S. service areas. Review the accepted-items guide so your request describes items covered by the current instructions.
If you have damaged items, missing toy parts, or anything outside the listed categories, ask the team first. Wet, contaminated, hazardous, or otherwise unsuitable items may be declined. Accurate details help the team evaluate your request.
Check coverage before setting items out
The service-area map and ZIP code checker provide a first check of current coverage. An exact address check is still needed when you begin your request. A ZIP code result does not confirm every address within that area.
Wait for the assigned pickup day and preparation instructions. A submitted request does not guarantee collection and may be confirmed, rescheduled, declined, or canceled when operational conditions require it.
Prepare for the agreed handoff
- Check pockets, bags, and containers for personal belongings.
- Remove sensitive information from anything you make available.
- Keep the eligible items together and follow the preparation instructions you receive.
- Use the agreed location and time, with items safely accessible for collection.
- Watch for service updates and contact the team if a detail is unclear or changes.
You can return to the pickup preparation guide before the assigned day. Keep uncertain items separate until you have confirmed their eligibility.
Understand what happens next
Collected items may be sorted, reused, recycled, transferred, or otherwise handled through Together Recycling’s operations. The service does not guarantee a particular destination or recipient. Together Recycling is a recycling and collection company, not a charity, and does not promise a charitable donation receipt or tax deduction.
A final check
Eligible items, accurate request details, and confirmed instructions are the essentials. Review the Terms of Use if you need to check the collection conditions before your handoff.
